Couldn't believe it, woke up and beautiful day, why wasn't it like this yesterday. Still some smog but not as much. Bus was late and when it arrived it was a 15 seater van for 7 of us and luggage piled on the seats in front. Driver did not speak English but all good.
Scenery pretty boring and a 4 hour drive to port.
At rest stop 3hours into drive one American couple realised they had left their passports money, jewellery back at their hotel. Great drama as they didn't have a phone with global roaming and the driver didn't speak English, finally worked it out and the money etc put into a taxi to meet them at terminal. stress, had me checking my passport as well.
At dock bags whisked away and when I checked in, preferential booking, being Elite, straight through and onto ship in about 20 minutes including customs. fantastic.
Ship is beautiful, will take some time to check it all out and not get confused.
Still very smoggy, Tianjin is a large city with a lot of industry around and miles and miles of high rise apartment buildings.
